5-12V 1A Router UPS Circuit Power Supply Module
Product Description
You can use a lithium-ion battery as the input voltage. Yes, the voltage can be adjusted to 12v. Multiple 3.5V batteries in series or parallel can achieve the required voltage and capacity for your Router UPS project.
Series Configuration –
Connecting batteries in series adds their voltages –
- 3.5V + 3.5V = 7V (2 batteries)
- 7V + 3.5V = 10.5V (3 batteries)
- 10.5V + 3.5V = 14V (4 batteries)
To achieve 12V – You’ll need 3-4 batteries in series (10.5V or 14V). Add a voltage regulator (e.g., LM2577) to regulate the voltage to 12V.
Parallel Configuration –
Connecting batteries in parallel increases the capacity (Ah) – 3.5V x 2Ah + 3.5V x 2Ah = 3.5V x 4Ah (2 batteries in parallel)
Router UPS Circuit Option 1 –
Series-Parallel with Voltage Regulator – 3 x 3.5V batteries in series (10.5V) + 1 x 3.5V battery in parallel (increases capacity)
Voltage regulator (LM2577) to regulate to 12V
Router UPS Circuit Option 2 –
Series with Voltage Regulator – 4 x 3.5V batteries in series (14V)
Voltage regulator (LM2577) to regulate to 12V
Safety Considerations –
- Overcharge/Over-discharge Protection
- Short-Circuit Protection
- Monitor temperature during charging/discharging
- Proper Charging: Use a lithium battery charger
